Top Ten!

**UPDATE - 12:54pm 5/31: Looks like they took the long weekend off from approving comments, but they're up now. 43 of them so far! Holy Smokes! You guys are awesome! Check out the comments below - RCCC found this blog because of all the traffic you guys have generated to their site. Awesome!** Hey, just wanted to say thanks to everybody who has commented on my design submission for the Rubber City Clothing Company design contest. I've made it to the top ten. Pretty cool. Special thanks goes out to my fraternity brothers who have flooded the comments with positive feedback, plus some nice reminders of days gone by. Thanks again guys. Thanks also to everybody who's passed a note along to their friends to go comment. I've really been overwhelmed by all the fun comments you all have left. But! The battle isn't over yet. Just a few more days to comment - so by all means, if you've kept quiet on this, now is the time to make some noise. You have until June 2nd. Here's the link one last time: http://www.rubbercityclothing.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=81 Thanks again. P.S. - Some of you have told me that you've commented and they haven't shown up. If that's the case - contact Rubber City Clothing and let them know you want your voice to be heard. Just e-mail them at contest@rubbercityclothing.com (Remember - give them some time to review before you send them an email. They review them so nobody posts anything crude.)

Throw a vote my way!

Hey everybody I need your support! I've entered a contest being put on by Rubber City Clothing Company, a great little T-shirt company based in the city of my birth - Akron! They sell "Uniquely Akron" t-shirts that are humorous and promote Akron. The thing is - I need you guys to "vote" for my design by commenting on it. The winner of the contest gets $50 and one of their t-shirts. If you guys help me win I'll use the fifty bucks to buy a few of the T-shirts and give them away to guys in a contest right here on this blog. Let your friends know! Tell your Mama to vote! Freedom isn't free! "Like Vegas - With Jo-Jo's" My first entry celebrates Jo-Jo's. If you're from Akron, you know what Jo-Jo's are, if you've moved to Akron and haven't had them yet - you're really missing out. What kind of people are you hanging around that don't have the decency to introduce you to this delicacy? I don't think that I've ever had fried chicken without having Jo-Jo's. Just for the record - I don't count KFC as fried chicken. Basically a Jo-Jo, as my mind comprehends it, is a baked potato, that is cut into wedges, dipped in batter and deep fried. As Homer would say - Mmmm, Akrony! Tell the people at Rubber City Clothing you like this design by following this link. "Come back here with that!" My second entry speaks to a recent phenomenon in the City of Akron. Stolen Manhole Covers! Oh my! Recently about 70 Manhole covers have been stolen off the city streets. It caused quite a stir, apparently these manhole covers could be sold as scrap metal and pull down a whopping $10 each! I guess I can understand why people would do this, seems like a lot of work for a little bit of money but hey - if you don't mind risking life, limb and/or property damage to countless of innocent Akronites - then, whatever. Part of the inspiration for this design comes from the fact that my youngest brother, Nate, was interviewed by Cleveland's 19 Action News - everywhere (say it in a whisper) about his feelings on the recent missing manhole mystery. Basically - as Nate puts it, the reporter asked him "How would it feel to fall into a manhole, break your leg and drown in sewage?" Nate of course, thought the question was hilarious and responds, laughing of course, "That would be terrible." Nate - if everybody get's 15 minutes of fame, you've still got 14:55 left. He was basically on screen just long enough for them to flash his name. We'll try and get the video posted on here sometime in the future. For more on this see this article. If you'd like this design turned into a t-shirt, leave a comment by following this link. I've got one more design that I'm working on but, in the interest of time and getting a some comments on these I'll update this post with it once I'm finished. Seriously. Go comment on it. You will be instantly cool (at least in my eyes). Click on the links or the designs that you like best. . . . . . . . Stop reading and go comment.
